This work is inspired by the Chapter “白雀” in Mr. Cao Wenxuan’s novel "草房子”. It shows how protagonist SangSang, on her way delivering the letters for Baique, is bewildered at her thought of peeking at them. Through its warm colors and the delicate brushwork, this illustration embodies the unique Chinese country flavor and the style of naturel guileless in the story.
